Cyclist will start and finish in the center of Copper Mountain Resort at Burning Stones Plaza. Amply stocked aid stations will be positioned throughout the course. Upon returning from your ride, participants will be treated to an “Alpine Celebration”. The post-ride party with live entertainment, first-class lunch, prize drawings and an industry expo will continue throughout the afternoon.
Ride Start Time
Please plan to start your ride between 5:45 a.m. – 7:45 a.m. ALL riders MUST be on the road by 8:00 a.m. We encourage riders to begin early to avoid the traditional afternoon mountain thunderstorms and highway traffic. Colorado State Patrol will not allow anyone to start prior to first light (5:45 a.m.) and you must have both a front and back light on your bike.
Jersey & Packet Pickup
If you did not choose to have your packet mailed to you, you may pick up your packet at Kokopeli Trail in the Copper Conference Center at the following times:
Friday, August 3: 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday, August 4: 5:30 a.m. – 8 a.m.
If your jersey does not fit, you may try to exchange it ride weekend at our merchandise booth. Please note that inventory will be limited, so we can’t guarantee that all sizes will be available.
Should you care to receive your rider credentials prior to event, we’re happy to mail your packet for an additional fee. Pease mark this option when registering online. If you decide this is something you want after the fact, please edit your registration preferences no later than Thursday, June 28th.
Copper Mountain has a number of restaurants in center village that will be open before the ride. Stop in for a hot cup of coffee and one of their freshly made breakfast sandwiches, pastries or muffins to gear up for your ride.
Expect temperatures to be in the upper 30’s to low 40’s at the start with normal daytime highs in the upper 60’s to low 70’s. Mountain weather is highly variable, so be prepared for thunderstorms or even rain.
There is NO RV or car camping available at Copper Mountain Resort the weekend of the event. However, there are several campsites near Frisco and Lake Dillon, CO just a few miles down the road from the resort.
